Angel City FC signed veteran midfielder/forward Katie Johnson to a two-year contract on Thursday.
Johnson, 28, had three assists in 15 matches with the expansion San Diego Wave last season.
The California native and former USC Trojans star is entering her sixth season in the NWSL.
"I'm so excited to play at BMO Stadium, feeling the environment and community that has already grown in one year," she said. "I want to bring championships and trophies to Angel City and to L.A. I've had pretty good success at home in L.A. in high school, and in college at USC, so to hopefully bring one to Angel City would be a big accomplishment."
Johnson has also played for Seattle Reign FC, Sky Blue FC (now NJ/NY Gotham FC) and the Chicago Red Stars.
