The US president has said that performing sex changes on minor should be illegal
US President Donald Trump has urged Congress to ban "sex change" procedures for children, denouncing the "woke" culture in America.
He made his appeal during an address to the both chambers of Congress on Tuesday night.
"I've also signed an order to cut off all taxpayer funding to any institution that engages in the sexual mutilation of our youth," Trump told the audience.
"And now I want Congress to pass a bill permanently banning and criminalizing sex changes on children and forever ending the lie that any child is trapped in the wrong body."
"Our message to every child in America is that you are perfect exactly the way God made you," Trump added, prompting a standing ovation from Republicans.
"Wokeness is trouble. Wokeness is bad," he said.
