• Russia claimed on March 9 that it hadretaken three villagesearlier captured by Ukraine in its Kursk region -- with unconfirmed reports that thousand of Ukrainian troops risks being encircled by Russian forces.
• Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on March 7 thatRussia fired almost 70 cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as launching nearly 200 drones, at various energy facilities in Ukraine in an attack that also hit residential buildings.
• President Donald Trump on March 7threatenedto impose additional sanctions on Russia.
