Washington should support the effort led by Europe, the has president said
Europe must take the lead in providing "significant security guarantees" to Ukraine, US President Donald Trump said on Monday. Washington's role will be supportive rather than primary, he stressed.
"Europe is going to give them significant security guarantees - and they should, because they're right there," Trump told reporters at the Oval Office. He added that Washington would remain involved "from the standpoint of backup."
