10 dead, over 40 injured after double-decker hit by train in central Mexico
At least 10 people were killed and over 40 others injured when a double-deck passenger bus was hit by a freight train in central Mexico on Monday, authorities said.
The collision occurred on the Atlacomulco-Maravatio federal highway in the Atlacomulco municipality, the State of Mexico, according to media reports.
The injured were transferred to a hospital while emergency agencies were working at the scene, the state's civil protection agency said in a post at around 8:30 a.m. local time, without specifying the exact time of the crash.
London's Heathrow Airport terminal reopened after evacuation
London's Heathrow Airport reopened on Monday evening, as no adverse substance was found following reports of a "possible hazardous materials incident."
"Emergency services have confirmed Terminal 4 is safe to reopen," the airport said on social platform X. "And we are doing everything we can to ensure all flights depart as planned today."
The Terminal 4 check-in was closed and evacuated earlier this evening after reports of incidents involving "possible hazardous materials." Emergency services have responded to the incident.
Video clips and photos shared online show that large numbers of people were gathering outside the terminal building, with water and blankets being handed out.
French PM Francois Bayrou loses confidence vote over budget cuts
French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou on Monday lost a confidence vote in the French National Assembly over his budget plan seeking to save billions of euros per year in government spending.
According to the results announced by the Speaker of the French National Assembly, Yael Braun-Pivet, only 194 were in favor of Bayrou out of 558 valid votes. This marks the first time in the history of the Fifth Republic that a government has fallen during a vote of confidence, local media reported.
Speaking to the deputies Monday afternoon ahead of the vote, Bayrou stressed that France's excessive debt was "life-threatening" for the country.
According to official figures, France's public debt stood at 3,345.8 billion euros (about 3,914.6 billion U.S. dollars), or 114 percent of its GDP, at the end of the first quarter of 2025.
