Golf fans familiar with the rise of players including Tony Finau through reality television likely will applaud the Golf Channel's announcement that 'The Big Break' is returning after a decade hiatus.
The Golf Channel announced the reality competition will return in August 2026, with an invitation to The Good Good Championship three months later at stake.
Titled 'Big Break x Good Good,' the show will premier in August with 12 players competing at the Horseshoe Bay Resort outside of Austin, Texas. The contestants will include Good Good's Brad Dalke, who finished runner-up at the 2016 U.S. Amateur, and Sean Walsh, who was a two-time All-WCC honorable mention player for Gonzaga.
Good Good, a golf-centric brand and YouTube channel that has close to 2 million subscribers, was announced Monday as the title sponsor of The Good Good Championship slated for Nov. 12-15, 2026 at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa's Fazio Canyons Course.
The winner of 'Big Break x Good Good' will be awarded an exemption into the field.Good Good's Matt Scharff is set to host alongside 'Big Break' alum Blair O'Neal, with Good Good personalities Garrett Clark and Tom 'Bubbie' Broders serving as non-playing team captains.
Finau competed on 'The Big Break' in 2009 along with his brother, Gipper, finishing second. After playing on the PGA Tour Canada and the Web.com Tour, Tony Finau eventually earned his PGA Tour card for the 2-14-15 season.
'The Big Break' debuted in 2003, offering exemptions into select events or full-season exemptions on lower-level tours. The show was canceled in 2015 after 23 seasons, with other notable contestants including Wesley Bryan, Matt Every, Tommy Gainey and the LPGA Tour's Gerina Mendoza and Ryann O'Toole.
