BEIJING, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- China will continue to suspend the 24-percent additional tariff on imports from the United States for one year while retaining the 10-percent rate, according to an announcement released Wednesday by the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council.
China will make the adjustment from 1:01 p.m. on Nov. 10, 2025, the commission said.
The move aims to implement the outcomes and consensus reached in the China-U.S. economic and trade talks, the commission said.
The continued suspension of certain additional tariffs between China and the United States will help promote the sound, stable and sustainable development of bilateral economic and trade relations, bring benefits to the people of both countries, and contribute to global prosperity, the commission added.
The commission also said Wednesday that starting 1:01 p.m. on Nov. 10, 2025, China will terminate the additional tariff measures stipulated in an earlier announcement on certain imports originating from the United States.
According to the earlier announcement issued in March, China had decided to impose an additional 15-percent tariff on imported chicken, wheat, corn and cotton originating from the United States. Sorghum, soybeans, pork, beef, aquatic products, fruits, vegetables and dairy products were subject to an additional 10-percent tariff.
The termination of certain additional tariffs between China and the United States serves the fundamental interests of both countries and their people, meets expectations of the international community, and will help advance bilateral economic and trade relations to a higher level, the commission said.
