Ann Li rallied for a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 upset of No. 2 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova of Russia in second-round action Tuesday at the Internationaux de Strasbourg in France.
Li finished the victory in just under two hours after tallying 10 aces, converting five of 14 break chances and taking advantage of eight double faults by Alexandrova. She awaits the winner between No. 8 Marie Bouzkova of the Czech Republic and Ukraine's Oleksandra Oliynykova.
No. 1 seed Victoria Mboko defeated Lois Boisson of France 6-4, 6-3, while fellow Canadian and No. 7 Leylah Fernandez outlasted Poland's Magdalena Frech 4-6, 6-3, 4-6 in two hours and 48 minutes. Also advancing to the third round was Australia's Daria Kasatkina after a 6-1, 6-3 defeat of Peyton Stearns. China's Shuai Zhang and France's Diane Parry won their first-round matches.

No. 1 seed Janice Tjen of Indonesia defeated Sweden's Caijsa Hennemann 6-1, 7-5 in the opening round in Rabat, Morocco.
Tjen converted six of nine break chances in the 84-minute match and will next face Colombia's Camila Osorio, a 6-0, 6-4 winner against Tereza Martincova of the Czech Republic.
No. 2 Jessica Bouzas Maneiro of Spain outed Sweden's Lisa Zaar 6-0, 7-5. No. 3 Tatjana Maria of Germany won 6-2, 6-4 against home hopeful Diae El Jardi. No. 4 Yuliia Starodubtseva of Ukraine notched a 6-4, 6-2 victory against Spain's Angela Fita Boluda. Also moving to the second round were Colombia's Emiliana Arango, Morocco's Yasmine Kabbaj, Burundi's Sada Nahimana and Ukraine's Yelyzaveta Kotliar.
