Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh) [India], May 23 (ANI): Penpa Tsering, Sikyong President of Tibetan government in-exile, said that it is now difficult to keep a track of international political outlook.
Tsering, in a conversation with ANI, said that Tibet was keeping a track of important visits, like US President Donald Trump's visit to China and Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to China.
He said, 'Now so many things are happening so it's very difficult to make a complete analysis of evolving global political dynamics. We are watching as I always say we are watching all the developments including President Trump's visit to China, President Putin's visit to China and I am sure there will be lot more visits coming up. So this is how what the international political outlook looks like that's becoming more bipolar in its structure.'
He added, 'So we will still have to watch the developments because there have been no concrete declarations in both the meetings. I think it's more offshore of equality from the Chinese side and still being in a sense antagonistic towords United States because if you look at both the meetings analysts also say that Xi Jinping had an upper hand and all that so despite all that we will have to look at the reality of the situation, what actually happens despite all the talks.'
Tsering further said that Panchen Lama was chosen by Holiness, the Dalai Lama and was abducted in 1995.
'So the situation is still evolving in the Strait of Hormuz. It's still very fluid but the fact that Panchen Lama was abducted. The Panchen Lama chosen by his Holiness, the Dalai Lama was abducted in 1995. His family and Panchen Rinpoche, we still don't know where he is, whether he is alive or not. We can be very sure that he has not been given if he is alive also, he has not been given any religious learning to be in future. If the time comes or if there is an opportunity for him to take religious responsibilities,' he said.
Tsering further said that they will also celebrate US' 250th Independence Day.
'So in state they will use their own chosen Panchen in the choice of the next his Holiness, the Dalai Lama also. So those things are very much in the plan of the Chinese government. But US is standing very firmly on this. So their position is very clear. They already have a law. If they change the position, they have to change the law first. So those things are there. We will also be attending the 250th Independence Day celebration of the United States at the US Consulate this coming Sunday when Secretary Rubio will come so our relationship is strengthening. It's not winning just because of the meetings between President Trump and president Xi so let's see how the things evolve,' he said.
Answering to a question whether Sikyong is hopeful about some concrete information regarding Panchen Lama would come out now, he said, 'I doubt so. It has already been some 36 years, going to be 37 years old, I don't think... yeah since his disappearance, 31 years. He is already 36-37 years old. I don't think, till a sensible leadership comes.'
